Holiday gift guide to shop local in Washington, DC
Welcome to our 2023 Holiday Gift Guide – Washington DC, where we highlight local businesses to shop for your holiday gifting needs this season.
For the person who is leaving it to the last minute
Procrastinator's Market – Edgewood
Snag a ticket for this free shopping event December 16th featuring makers and bakers from across the District, including Northeast favorites like Zeke’s Coffee and Republic Restoratives.
(Pro Tip: Check out the website to see a list of vendors – many of them, like FlipFlop Caravan, have online shops if you still want to shop local but can’t make it in person to the market.)
For the person who wants to be popular with the hosts
DCanter – Eastern Market
Celebrating 10 years this year, this contemporary wine shop near Capitol Hill is offering special tastings on weekends to help you select the perfect pairings for holiday meals. They also offer gift cards, event space, and delivery to select locations in D.C. and Northern Virginia.
For ANYONE
Shop Made in DC – Online or in-person at their Georgetown, Union Market district, Wharf or Canopy Embassy Row locations
This “one-stop small business shop” always makes our list. Shop Made in DC was founded by two DC locals who round up the District’s best makers, bakers, artists, and beyond to curate specialty made gifts and gift boxes so you can give the gift of DC while supporting local makers and artists. They also offer a variety of classes and events that range from watercolors to fiber art workshops.
