Where to Watch Fireworks this 4th of July
With Independence Day celebrations around the corner, our team at Roda has tips on where to watch fireworks shows and how to find parking!
For those that don’t want to endure the traffic in the heart of D.C, consider watching this year’s firework show at the Washington National Cathedral. The cathedral is on a high point so you get a spectacular view on the sloped lawn with convenient underground parking for $7 an hour at 3101 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, DC 20016.
If you want a waterfront view, try visiting the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, costing just $2 an hour at 16 E Basin DR SW, Washington, DC, 20242.
For Virginia residents, check out Gravelly Point in Arlington, VA with free onsite parking which offers a unique experience of watching planes fly close overhead, giving you entertainment while you wait for the main show. (Gravelly Point, Arlington, VA 22202)
For those that just want to bike or walk, the Mt Vernon Trail down to Columbia Island has grass seating along the shoreline perfect for viewing the show from afar.
The Capital’s fireworks display begins at 9:09 PM, launched from the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool, so any spot where you can see the Washington monument, you’ll likely have an amazing view of the show!
If fireworks aren’t your thing, you can attend the National Independence Day Parade from 11:45 AM to 2:00 PM along Constitution Avenue NW, between 7th Street and 17th Street.
We look forward to celebrating our nation’s founding day and hope you enjoy this year's firework display!
