Like the name says, spark plugs are small electrical devices that create the “spark” of electricity that allows your engine to burn gasoline and convert it to power. Your spark plug ignites thousands of times in a single trip. If you’ve heard the term “internal combustion engine,” spark plugs are what make that engine combust internally!  

The good news is you should only have to replace your spark plugs every 100k miles or so unless there’s an underlying issue.
