Frequently Asked Questions About Brakes
Why is my car vibrating?
Vibration while braking is a typical symptom drivers experience as the brake pads wear down. This is caused by the natural heat-cycling that the brake system experiences while braking at higher speeds. Over time the brake pads wear down and this can cause slightly higher braking temps that eventually will warp the brake rotors and cause a vibration while braking that typically increases as the pads wear down
How do I know if I need a brake system diagnosis?
One of the most common reasons to get your brakes checked is a strange noise, unexpected resistance, or a burning smell when applying pressure to your brakes. Typically, these may be symptoms of worn brake pads, damaged rotors, or calipers. A more thorough diagnosis by a certified technician is necessary to identify the specific issue.
How much does a brake system diagnosis cost?
While pricing varies depending upon the repair required, costs related to the repair and replacement of common brake components typically starts at $200 per axle. (While you may only push one set of brake pedals to stop your car, brake pads and rotors are attached to each of your four wheels.) We’ll provide a comprehensive digital estimate with photo and video of any recommended repairs and get your approval line-by-line before completing any work.
My brakes were squeaking as if the pads were low (had them for about 3 months) so Roda picked my car up from my house and after looking at it they said the pads still had 9mm on them and the rotors were good and they were not squeaking when they drove and stopped the car. So Roda returned the car to my house without charging anything, not even a service fee, even though I basically wasted their time.
