RODA SERVICE
AC / Heating Issue
If your air conditioning isn’t blowing cold or your heater can’t keep up, something in your climate control system needs attention. It could be as simple as low refrigerant — or as complex as a failed blend door actuator or compressor.

When You Need This

A/C Blowing Warm Air
Often caused by low refrigerant, a failing compressor, or a leak in the system.
Heater Blowing Cold Air
Could mean low coolant, a stuck blend door, or a failing heater core.
Weak or No Airflow
May indicate a bad blower motor, clogged cabin filter, or electrical fault.
Unusual Noises or Odors
Squealing, hissing, or musty smells can point to mechanical wear or moisture buildup in the evaporator.

⚠️ What happens if you skip it? ⚠️
Neglecting A/C or heating issues can cause refrigerant leaks, compressor failure, or overheating from related cooling system problems. Quick diagnosis prevents major system damage and keeps your vehicle comfortable in every season.
What It Could Be
Your vehicle’s climate system combines electrical, refrigerant, and mechanical components — our diagnostic process pinpoints which part is failing.
• Low or Leaking Refrigerant
The most common cause of poor cooling performance.
• Bad Compressor or Clutch
Prevents refrigerant from circulating properly.
• Faulty Blower Motor or Resistor
Leads to weak airflow or no response at certain speeds.
• Blend Door or Actuator Failure
Causes wrong air temperature or vents not responding.
• Faulty Climate Control Module or Sensor
Sends incorrect data, making temperature control inconsistent.
How This is Done
We use professional-grade testing tools to accurately diagnose A/C and heating system faults — saving you time and money.
1. Verify Symptoms
Check vent temperature, airflow, and system pressure.
2. Scan for Climate Control Codes
Identify electronic or sensor-related issues.
3. Inspect Refrigerant & Pressure Levels
Check for leaks or low charge with precision gauges.
4. Test Electrical Components
Verify operation of compressors, fans, and actuators.
5. Review Findings & Recommend Fix
Provide a clear explanation and transparent repair estimate.

Rated 5-stars by hundreds of DC-area drivers
“Roda was a great service. I hit a pothole and had a blow out. They came and picked the car up downtown, fixed it, and dropped it back at my house. I'll definitely check them out again.”

Yes — if you approve the recommended repair or service, we waive the $100 diagnostic fee.
Why is my car’s air conditioning not blowing cold air?
There are several reasons your car's air conditioning might not be blowing cold air - the most common reason is a refrigerant leak in your AC system (one of your hoses or seals may be old or faulty and need replacing). It could also be an issue with your compressor, a clogged condenser, or faulty cooling fan. The best thing to do is bring it in for a diagnosis so we can find and address the true cause.
How often do I need my air conditioning serviced?
If you use your A/C system a lot, you may need it serviced more frequently than the average car. If your car is newer, it may be able to go longer without servicing (and vice versa for older cars). You can always check under your hood for leaks, odd smells, or strange noises- these indicators may suggest it's time for service.
Why is my heater blowing cold air?
If your heater is blowing cool or cold air, your car might have a thermostat issue, or an air pocket in the cooling system. There can also be an issue with the air mix door. The air mix (or blend actuator) door controls the mixture or flow of hot & cold air to the vents. When an issue is present, it often can be caused by the door jamming or the actuator that controls the door fails and won’t respond to the signal from the climate control unit.
Is it safe to drive with a broken A/C or heater?
Yes, but reduced defrosting or airflow can impact visibility and comfort — especially in extreme weather.
Will adding refrigerant fix my A/C?
Only temporarily, if the system leaks. We locate and repair the leak for a lasting fix.
Can a bad thermostat cause heater issues?
Yes — if it’s stuck open, the engine never reaches proper temperature for heat output.
Do you service both R-134a and R-1234yf systems?
Yes, we handle both refrigerant types using certified recovery and recharge equipment.
What does the Roda warranty cover?
All repairs performed after diagnosis are covered by our Roda 12-month / 12,000-mile warranty, including both parts and labor for complete peace of mind.
