Roda Runner Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 28, 2025 · Applies to: Valet & shuttle drivers
Overview
This policy explains how Roda Car Care collects, uses, and protects your location data while you are using the Roda Runner app during work assignments. By using Roda Runner, you acknowledge and consent to the data practices described here. This policy applies exclusively to Roda employees working as valet or shuttle drivers and covers only your use of the app in a professional capacity.
What data we collect
While you are actively on a ride or assignment, Roda Runner collects the following:
- Real-time GPS location: Your device's geographic coordinates are tracked continuously while a ride is in progress. This allows Roda to monitor driver and vehicle location for safety and operational coordination.
- Ride timestamps & assignment data: The start time, end time, and route of each assignment are recorded and associated with your employee account and the client vehicle being transported.
- Device identifier: A unique identifier associated with your work device may be logged to verify which device is linked to a given assignment.
Why we collect location data
Location tracking is a core operational feature of Roda Runner. It serves the following purposes:
- Client vehicle safety. Because drivers are operating client vehicles, Roda must be able to verify vehicle location at all times during transport.
- Operations management. Dispatchers and shop managers use live location data to coordinate pick-ups, drop-offs, and shuttle runs efficiently across the DMV area.
- Driver safety. Location data allows Roda to respond quickly in the event of an emergency or unexpected incident during an assignment.
- Record keeping & accountability. Logged route data may be referenced to resolve questions about service delivery, timing, or client disputes.
When location tracking is active
Location tracking is only active while you are on an active ride or assignment within the Roda Runner app. Roda does not track your location when you are off-duty, when no assignment is active, or when the app is closed. You will be able to see within the app when a ride is in progress and tracking is enabled.
Who can access your data
Access to your location data is limited to:
- Roda shop managers and dispatchers, for operational coordination
- Authorized Roda technical staff responsible for maintaining the Roda Runner app
- Law enforcement or legal authorities, if required by law
Roda does not sell, rent, or share your location data with any third-party advertising or marketing services.
Data retention
Ride location logs are retained indefinitely as part of Roda's permanent operational records. This data is stored securely and access is restricted to authorized personnel only. Retained records may be used to support service verification, dispute resolution, insurance claims, or legal proceedings.
Your rights & questions
If you have questions about how your data is used, want to know what data has been collected about you, or have concerns about this policy, please speak with your manager or contact Roda's shop administration directly at leadership@roda.com.
Policy updates
Roda may update this policy from time to time. Employees will be notified of any material changes before they take effect. Continued use of the Roda Runner app after notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
This is an internal document for Roda Car Care employees only. It is not intended for distribution to clients or the general public.
